During holidays, Professor Venkatarao gives tuitions to needy students in his Washington DC area in US. With the money raised, he funds education of poor children in Girijan areas of Andhra Pradesh under the 'Ekalavya' program. He also offers scholarships to engineering students and donations to orphanages in Hyderabad. He has contributed to the development of the Sri Venkateswara Temple in the Washington DC area.
